How Is Breast Lift and Augmentation Surgery Performed?
Our highly trained plastic surgeons can place breast implants in combination with a breast lift procedure to create larger, lifted breasts with a more youthful appearance. The surgery is typically performed as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia.
There are several incision techniques for breast lift and augmentation surgery. Dr. David Kahng will recommend the best surgical approach to achieve optimal results, depending on the amount of excess skin to be removed, existing breast tissue, and the patient’s personal goals.
Incision placement options for breast lift and augmentation in Orange County include:
Donut lift
The incision is made around the edge of the areola. This technique is effective for correcting mild sagging and often performed in conjunction with breast implant placement.
Lollipop lift
Two incisions are made in this technique – around the edge of the areola and vertically from the bottom of the areola to the breast crease. This approach allows the surgeon to remove excess skin and reshape the entire breast.
Anchor lift
This approach is used to correct pendulous breasts, considerable sagging, and significant amounts of excess skin. In involves 3 incisions – around the edge of areola; running vertically from the bottom of the areola to the breast crease; and along the inframammary fold in the breast crease.
