Spectacular Skin: All About Secret RF Microneedling

Secret RF microneedling goes above and beyond traditional microneedling. It combines radiofrequency heat with the already-effective procedure to further enhance results. Whether you choose this treatment for anti-aging, specific skin conditions, or routine maintenance, it is quite customizable and can be adjusted to match your skin type and condition to best meet your goals. Different settings can perform different levels of depth and intensity. These levels will depend on your goal results.

The Science of Secret RF Microneedling

Traditional microneedling works by creating tiny holes in the skin to kick-start your body’s wound healing process. These tiny injuries tell your body to send in your immune system’s growth factors, which creates brand-new, collagen-rich tissue. Your skin will be thickened and remodeled by this process, creating an improved skin appearance. When radiofrequency is introduced to this process, the outcome is elevated because RF heat is delivered into the skin, which causes a bigger “injury” and stimulates an even bigger wound repair process. This means more collagen production, and more collagen production means skin that is even firmer, plumper, and more youthful.

Secret RF Treatment Details

Before your treatment begins, we will cleanse your skin and apply numbing cream. This takes about 40 minutes to set. Once your skin is numb, we will remove the cream. A gel will then be applied to help the microneeding device to glide more easily over your skin. Your provider will then pass the Secret RF handheld device over each area of your face (usually twice).

While Secret RF is more painful than traditional microneedling, it’s still very tolerable. If you feel uncomfortable during treatment, please let us know. With each tiny needle punch, RF heat is emitted into the skin. This is also tolerable, as the tip of the Secret RF device is insulated. This means that the heat is only at the bottom of the needles. Once the device has finished moving over the skin, different serums will be applied to soothe, protect, and nurture your skin.

Recovery and Downtime

Secret RF microneedling does not require much downtime. You can expect to feel some warmth, swelling, and tightness in the treated area (almost like a sunburn) for a day or so. Stay out of the sun and avoid anything that causes you to become hot for 1-3 days, and be sure to use a gentle cleanser and very little makeup during that time as well. You may also experience some puffiness underneath your eyes, which is very temporary. You can go back to work and regular activities when you feel comfortable doing so. Take advantage of moisturizer and sunscreen every day once you’re healed to keep your skin protected.

You will see results from Secret RF microneedling at approximately 4-6 weeks following treatment. These results will continue to look better and better as time goes on and your new collagen builds.
