Depending on the implant, our plastic surgeon will make a small incision on the inside of the lower lip or under the chin. Next, the surgeon will insert and place a silicone implant and close the incision with carefully placed sutures.

What is Recovery like After Chin Augmentation?

As with any surgery, you can expect some bruising, swelling, and tenderness after chin augmentation surgery. This will subside as healing occurs. We will prescribe medications to control any post-surgical pain or discomfort.

Most patients are able to return to work and resume normal daily activities within a week after surgery. You will be instructed to avoid strenuous activity for 3 to 4 weeks.
